Earth to Bella : "this is an emergency"

Earth Hour , Earth Hour...!!!

You could not go by a day, especially this week and not hear some one utter those two things.

Well, here I am making the cause possible yet again, Earth Hour...E A R T H-- H O U R

Firstly I laud everyone who is involved in making this an auspicious event, especially those from WWF. (world wildlife foundation mind you, not world wrestling federation)

Yesterday I was browsing through the net and I stumbled upon something interesting, a polite comment by in the Star Online section.

And I quote
"It is amazing that people are so easily taken in by a mere publicity stunt that fails at the very essence. Turning off our lights for one hour on one designated day of the year to save our planet surely is a PR event at best" -- Mr Marcus, PJ

I think he's got a point, I mean of course people know its for a global cause, this 60 minutes that would make a world's difference.
But lets just put yourself in that day of the event, you turn off your lights for a whole one hour, than after that onwards you switch your computer on all night downloading torrents (myself included), blast the air-cond to full speed, let the lights on, blablabla so much so that you get my point.

Well, I'm not saying right after that we should all abandon technology, lights and all hope is gone.
What I am trying to make a sense out of is that, even when the 60minutes is over, we should look to continue the cause.

How?
You could also try to do it regularly, as in two hours a week, would be nice, I'm sure many would than argue that when they leave their houses they'd left it completely dark and scary even the thieves wouldn't ponder to make a move.

Well car pooling is another thing, the rest I think its best researched and studies by yours truly and yourself.

We could make this world into a better place, and help reverse the already ongoing effects of tomorrow that are hitting us fast.

LETS RAISE THE AWARENESS...!!

its Earth Hour, EVERY SINGLE WEEK at least ONCE!!!!

do u really support this campaign? im not sure i am huhu. its a gud thing this campaign is. tp cube tgk dr 1 perspectif. benda yg plg simple pon kt tak dpt nk carryout btol2, cthnye buang sampah dlm tong. ni kan pulak turn off the electricity for 1 hour. plg koman org tutup lampu je. internet still on, kipas/aircond still on, tv still on gak. n then came the papers. segala assignmnt kena anta dlm bentuk hardcopy. softcopy? wat about the trees? n then again, we turn off the lights in the cities. fuhh! giler r muda mudi enjoy kan? like my fren said, anything could happen in that fateful 1 hour, including 'making babies'. hmmm

well,

i didnt say that..
read properly..hehe
i said, if only all those who fight for this cause realize there is more to this..

i mean this is a hoax, IF all those involved only made it a one day thing..
BUT if they all join and raise awareness towards enlightening the nature with more causes and educate the public more about global warming, then its good.

your point is fantastic as well,
yes we could talk about the papers and trees,
a lot of students could lead the cause, as to the photocopy shops, they could be using recycled papers when providing their service..

and yes i think we should conserve all that we can, while we still can,

YES!!! EDUCATION! THATS THE ULTIMATE KEY!

u knw wat? i just did a research paper on the effectiveness of anti-HIV/AIDS in malaysia. one thing that i learnt. HIV reached malaysia sumwhr in 1986. n thn our gov started its 'war' against it as soon as possible n yes they've invented SO many campaigns. however, it took YEARS for these campaigns to kick in. jumlah kes hiv/aids dah turun dgn konsisten sejak thn 2002. so tahniah to these campaigns as it had provide necessary info n edu to d public. tp kt start campaigning, nk bg awareness n pendedahan sejak 1990s lagi n kite br je dpt impact from those awareness campaigns. i wonderla kan.

so agak2 la kan, brape thn agknye utk kt bg appropriate pendedahan n education yg spatotnye kat rakyat malaysia to raise the approriate awareness for this earth hour thing? nxt 10 years pon belum pasti dpt capai matlamat lg kan? huhu

erm yes...when everyone is educated thoroughly about the issue, only then will they agree to fight for the cause,
like what we have now,
Earth Hour, some makcik was telling me
"Adik, mlm ni ka depa suruh tutup lampu"

which goes to show, indeed they did switch off their lights but they know NOT why they did so,
they just do what the TV told them to do,
the adverts are kinda biased towards the educated ones, sad sad world

:)
