1. Contact Inhibition

Loss of contact inhibition.

This is one of the many characteristics of a Malignant neoplasm (in simpler terms Tumor or a type of Cancer).

Contact inhibition keep cells in our body in check. Imagine if you will, two cells, A and B, both growing side by side, at a steady rate. Contact inhibition help the cells to grow simultaneously without having to outgrow or encroach each other's space. When a cell experiences loss of inhibition it will outgrow it's neighbour and go out of control.

Such is the case when it comes to our lives, we always need to push each other, in a positive direction, so that we'll both grow in an appreciable manner. In certain situations, you'll see someone close improve or become better, this keeps you in check, allows you to work, make amends and improve as well.

This is the case with many great sports teams, they have a few individuals who are better than the rest, who are constantly improving and consistently performing that it'll lift those around them to do better as well. That's a characteristic that is alien to many, but whenever present it's such an invaluable asset.

It's always great to see someone close to us achieve something great, but sometimes our ego gets in the way, pries it way into your brain and tells you to hate it. Never allow that to happen, always keep it in place and use the achievement of others to help aspire ourselves to be better.

When a cell loses it's contact inhibition, it goes out of control, and that'll lead to something called Metaplasia, whereby it changes it's shape into something different, different from it's neighbouring cells. Can you imagine being one of those cells, looking at the metaplasia ridden cell, high and mighty, all coked up with success and  it has literally forget what it was once before. Never let success change who you once were, we're all self-conscious but never in a million years will we ever admit it. Don't ever lose your contact inhibition, it keeps you in place, peaceful and satisfied.

Epilog: Penyakit Pelik

Aku ada satu sindrom. Satu "penyakit". Satu kelakuan pelik.

I'll gladly take this as a gift, it makes me feel human

Under them skies of blue
Out in the great wide open

Epilog : Terawih or Terawikh?

  • If you're here to get an answer, than this is definitely the wrong place. But I'll let you know, it's terawih. That incessant -KH added by some never existed as far as I'm concerned.
  • Teringat aku masa kecik dulu, masa ikut family terawih kat Masjid USM. Masa kecik dulu nakal, jadi masa orang solat kat depan kebiasaan budak-budak saf belakang nanti bertaburan.
  • Geng kami lepak dihujung satu penjuru. Main tepuk kad, kadang main nama negeri, kadang main sepak-sepak tangan (aku tak pasti nama asal apa) dan semua jenis permainan yang percuma, tapi sangatlah berbaloi.
  • Ok, tak berbaloi in terms of ponteng solat.

Epilog: One Day

One day.

One fine day. When dust finally settles. Then we can speak freely about those wasted years.
Those years went by, twas eons ago or at least it felt like it, but every time you reminisce, the thought of it would make your old scars reappear, your wounds reopen with a dash of salt dusted upon it.

But the salt won't make the taste feel better, it stuns you, it simmers your insides, with a mindful silence. An unfathomable vigour.

The past is like a book you've read, that's bittersweet while it lasted. Like an emotional roller-coaster, that gives you that adrenaline rush, but once you reread it, the rush will quickly be crushed.

The past. Open and shut. Like a splinter at the back of our minds. A teacher armed with a double edged sword. Twisted yet sensible. Crazed yet manageable.

One day.

Epilog: Habit-at-at-at-at (echoes)

  • Manusia sering dikonotasikan sebagai creature of habit. Habit can be both good or bad.
  • He proposed using a habitator. A chart that allows you to monitor your progress within a month, there's columns of days within a month and rows that allow you to write the particular habit you'd like to develop or get rid of. Check it out, click here.
  • Pada akhir tempoh 30 hari , kalau jumlah tanda bagi sesuatu tabiat secara spesifik itu lebih banyak, dalam kes tabiat yang baik, maka ia berjaya diasimilasi dalam kehidupan harian kita, it's the opposite in case of bad habits.
-----------------------------------
ok stay with me for this one, aku nak mengarut, layan ja...

  • Senja-senja ni aku duduk, secara random ternampak perkataan 'Habitat'. Aku pun terpikiaq, habitat ni membawa maksud tempat atau environment dimana satu kehidupan membiak/membangun, kan?
  • Kalau perkataan Habitat ni kita cerai jadi 2 syllable nanti akan jadi HABIT-AT, kan?
  • Itulah Habitat, dan kita, sering dicanang menjadi Creatures of Habit :)

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle

p/s: aku baca dari atas sampai bawah, kalau ada graf mengarut, maka graf tu akan naik secara mendadak dikala hampa sampai hujung post ni.panjang la pulak, biasa la benda mengarut ni biasa meleret. tq for reading, adieu

Epilog: Spinning Around

  • My father taught me a lot of things. But I don't seem to catch the essence of his many lessons, at least not way back then. I only realize those things, those little details as I was growing up, maturing as some might put it.
  • Back then my father would always remind me that to get something, you'd have to do everything in your might in order to get it. Coming from a middle income family, I don't always get them cool stuff, and as many kids would normally react, I'd pester my parents, but it'll usually end up in me getting something similar of a lesser quality, or nothing at all.
  • Today, I'm 26 years old, and I still hear echoes of my father's old school advices whilst I was a kid, it doesn't come sprinting to my ears, but rather tones itself melodically every now and then.
  • Dah dekat 2 bulan kipas bilik aku rosak. Kipas siling.
  • So I reminded myself, everything my father taught me, kalau aku nak kipas siling baru, I've got to make it happen, by myself.
  • Obviously, tiada nilai langsung, atau tiada sama apa yang aku buat with whatever my father did all these years, or even whatever orang-orang yang susah selama ini struggle to get out of their cage of hardship, but the little experiences will teach you, bit by bit. Babysteps, yes? :)

Kipas baru!

p/s: a bit slow to update but hey, at least there's an update!

Epilog: Fius-box meletup

Takdak kipas dikala dok kerap blackout dan bahang summer datang singgah tepuk tampaq pipi dengan manja memang tak sempoi. Apa lagi sambung tulis.
  • Sejam pun dah terkapai tercungap nak catch-up, bila pensyarah berceloteh 2 jam berturut, you're bound to blow the infamous fuse in your thinking box.

Boleh berkata-kata, tapi tak pandai baca, tak mahir tulis, apa cerita? Banyak lagi nak kena belajaq ni.
  • Rahim maarop dah ada, lani kita kira jadi buta maarop la pulak. Aduh

Epilog: Trauma

  • Civilization are tested with crisis just as individuals are tried with adversity. It is these critical moments that brings out the character of a civilization, just as individual tests bring out the character of an individual.
  • Great civilizations measure up to their challenges and grow more resilient with each crisis, turning each adversity faced into an opportunity, much of it also applies to individuals.
  • Critical moments in history of our lives, will test our mettle as strong human beings.

  • Last week's incident really took the stuffing out of my pants. Literally was shaking afterwards. Somehow it kept on playing on the back of my mind, what I should've done, how I should've reacted yada yada.
  • Now, everytime I see a bloody police truck I make a humongous distance, leaps and bounds. Hope no one will ever have to go through what I went through.

p/s: I actually completed a post, albeit dry and arbitrary, haha, this place is so rusty.

Epilog: The Peculiar Petrichor

  • Have you ever wondered what that incredible scent teasing your olfactory nerves right before the rain falls down?
  • Slightly giving you the notion that you are in possession of a mysterious clairvoyant power that you can predict the weather, that you are the ultimate weather forecaster, well at least as far as them rainy days are concerned.
  • The elusive scent my friends,I present to you Petrichor
  • Petrichor, is caused mainly by many organisms in the soil, one of them called Actinomycetes which produces Geosmin, in which our noses are designed, SubhanAllah!, to be sensitive towards.
  • Geosmin is manufactured into a rampaging volatile compound that kicks up right into the deep trenches of our noses when soil is disturbed, by either gardening, plowing or a hard-rain fall. So when a storm is brewing, a few molecules of Geosmin finds their way into your noses, its high time you move on, or you'll be dancing in the rain, which by the way is no harm at all is there now?
  • It's funny how with all this technology lying around, with all this information flawlessly floating about the Internet we never bother to seek, and have the slightest of desire to be hungry, to have the thirst of knowing. It's fulfilling if channelled into the right pathways, mind you.

O geosmin! O earth-smell! A Elbereth Gilthoniel!

Epilog: Semuanya Ter-Buku

  • Oh Buku-buku aku! Kadang aku skizofernia, bergelak tawa, seorang diri. Kadang aku bercakap dengan sang dinding, tiada punya telinga dimanifestasi untuk mendengar tapi tetap membatu diri. Mengiakan segala yang daku cerita. Dalam suka duka. Selamanya. Terima Kasih tidak terhingga!

Epilog : The Little Things

The little things.

The little things that keeps our spirits in the right path.
The little things that keeps our clocks of life ticking.
The little things that make us see the world from a different point of view.
How beautiful and fortunate that we get the opportunity to experience them.
Day after day, we go about our own ways, we see things as they are, its all in its right place.
But sometimes, its the little things, insignificant it maybe in all of the other available days around the year, but just once, you see things differently. The beautification of your view at that instance, that very moment, is priceless.

Sometimes we take for granted things as they might seem insignificant and it picture paints a lack of value.
Look. A couple of days back someone virtually congratulated me upon acquiring a new land-line telephone number, no matter how insignificantly absurd it may seem, but to them it has value, and surely to me, it pinches my insides a lil' bit. It was a feeling, of appreciation. Of being thankful and grateful, even-though I don't half understand the idea of it all.

But it is the "insignificant" things, the littlest of efforts, the smallest of details, that makes us click and allows us to go on day by day. Before you learn to appreciate them, you'd best learn to discover them, on a greater frequency. Yes?

Epilog: A Ten Hut!

Soldiers. Highly disciplined, thorough, knows no word such as quitting unless it is to shut themselves free of this incoherent world.

Soldiers. Never afraid of death. Always staring it into its deceitful eyes with peril. Knowing that death is jockeying close just as the shadow does follow during the day.

Soldiers. They are not slaves. They are not machines, just plain obedient beings. When instructed they listen, they observe, they put themselves to task, near perfection, close, but no cigar.

Like soldiers we must be, like soldiers we must see, like soldiers we must believe, like soldiers we must not retreat!

Because the battles ahead is naught but a faint dream, it is a condescending truth that comes with a heavy price, of sacrifice.

I reminisce those times, where order was at sight, order was in place, we obeyed, we listened, we grew from it. A better person, a better abiding citizen. A complete being!

Epilog: of Tittering and Tremors

I recalled one day engaging myself in a light conversation with Tuan Hj Abbas, now the former Dean of CFS-IIUM (centre for foundation studies).

He told me how he feels when he realizes he is not in the know of a certain particular matter, he'd quickly go on and search for books, articles and every source imaginable to help him acquire this particular matter that is amiss from his mind.

That hunger, that drive, that is the thrill to gain, to learn...Talb'ul Ilmi...A vivification, a dream.

That is the level of commitment he had. Once he knew he was lost in a particular topic of conversation,he'd be frustrated and go on and read up on it, not to brag about it, but to fulfil, to feed his passion of learning. Of knowing.

Half of his commitment and I am good to go!

Berusahalah! Bacalah! Jangan bertangguh-tangguh!

FEED YOURSELF A MINDFUL THEN!

Epilog : ISLAM kau TIDAK relevan!!

Islam kau tidak relevan!

Islam aku paling betul, adakah kau Muslim? Serius, adakah kau Muslim?!?! (ulang sampai relevan)

  • Bukan semua orang Islam punya exposure Islami sepertimana sesetengah kita rasa.
  • Bukan semua orang Islam dibimbing oleh bulatan-bulatan usrah mingguan yang kerap mengisi rohani mereka.
  • Bukan semua orang Islam pandai mengaji apatah lagi bukan semua orang Islam adalah mufassir Quran.
  • Bukan semua orang dipupuk susur galur pemikiran Ulama-ulama terdahulu.
  • Bukan semua orang Islam berpeluang menjalani persekolahan dalam suasana Islamically conducive, mereka bukan produk Maahad, mereka bukan produk Sekolah Agama Rakyat, mereka jua bukan dari Darul Tahfiz mahupun sekolah Pondok.

[credit to the owner of the image is reserved]

Kerna manusia itu pelbagai. Kerna Insan maksud akarnya pelupa.

Never fan any flames, Be the one that lights up the darkness, be the one that resolves disputes.

Marilah.

  • Kita semua benci akan perpisahan, maka amat tepat kalam yang digarap  'you never know what you got until it's gone'.

Epilog : Hikayat Sang Pelupa

  • Insan.
  • Walau al-kisah tampak baru, skrip tampak seperti berbeda-beda, namun hakikat cerita masih sekufu.

Epilog : Retrospect

Social Media
  • Not that those who use them are bad, tapi kebergantungan yang jelas tidak sihat lagi-lagi bila kita punya perkara yang jauh lebih memerlukan tumpuan, masa itulah social media menganggu kosentrasi, khayal dude!
Exploring
  • Seronok jugak tanpa Social Media buat seketika ini. Pomodoro Technique yang diimplementasi pun lebih berkesan.
  • Membolehkan aku membaca, menulis, dan melukis! Syok jugak dapat read up on a few new things seperti web codes html etc
  • And voila! A new layout! Just tweaking a bit with the designs available, but I think I'm going to make more twitches after I finish reading a few tips and tricks from online blogging sites. ha!
  • Simplistik design ni, kan?
Midterm Hullabaloo
  • Alhamdulillah exam midterm pun dah selesai.Markah aku memang tak selesai la kot, haha.
  • Well, I took significant gambles on a few papers.
  • Psychologically drained. Macam-macam hal berlaku. Tapi sepatutnya kena cope well.
I came across this one article here. Sangat terasa, she is a fighter!

Need to plan ahead. Work hard+smart

p/s: this is quite random. dah lama tak tulis personal stuff. I guess I am bored. Cheers bub!

Epilog: Talking Heads

  • As of late and as ever, everyone has something to say about every single issue that arises.
  • This is a commoner practice which is good in essence if done in the right way.
  • Now I am not saying that I know the right way, rather its a point of observation amongst peers, and what we could see manifesting around us everyday.
  • I believe in freedom of speech of course when practised in its fine right way. But it is a virulent practice that everyone is indeed threading on a very fine line.
  • If you go overboard you might find yourself akin to the evillest of perceptions and if you're not going to say anything you'd be a passive passenger on God's earth.
  • A fatal mistake that many of us seemingly commit every single day without fail is that we love to lash out criticism without any substance. It's the infamously named cheap-shots that we sometime use to get back on certain issues that doesn't bode well with our train of thoughts.

"Speaking little and listening much are virtues and signs of maturity. The desire to make oneself heard at all times is a sign of spiritual imbalance and shamelessness, even if some explain it away as a form of insanity"-Fethullah Gulen

  • We often let emotions cloud our judgement. It's the very microcosm to the ever perishable healthy discourse between two parties engaging in a beautiful collision of ideas. Not akin to demonize each other, but rather trying to find a common ground and if a disagreement arises, respect each others personal views.
  • The very art of a healthy discussion is to never allow, at any point, your emotions get in your way.
  • Yes, principals are key, but as Professor Tariq Ramadan once mentioned "Without discipline, my ego is the first jail of myself".
  • This is the thin line we're threading. Often we fall prey to our own egos, getting entrapped in our own prison of our mindset, wanting to champion a debate, the negative desire to see our counterpart fall and eat their own views up.
  • We claim to be wanting to correct or to amend the situation, but in essence our "words of wisdom" just made things worse. Unfortunately, intentions never justify the end of our means.
  • Existence of a check and balance principality is pivotal in order to ensure we do not skew off the thin line drawn over the years by our community's psychosocial aspects.
  • Nothing that I have put together in the paragraphs above have not already been playing in our very minds, it is the implementation that becomes the problem. We all know the words, the wisdom, the mechanics but what we do not know is to reach out.
  • It starts with us, change our perceived thoughts, be more flexible in taking our stand and never go astray with the principals and guidance that is drawn from the Quran and authentic Hadith.
  • Never allow ourselves to be caught in a maze of zealotry or even fanaticism, but instead always have an open mind with regards to issues happening in and around us.
  • Finally, The populous masquerade their cerebration in such a way they each think that the world envelopes around their train of thought processes. Sadly,it does not work that way. Voice your opinions with nuance and if you find it necessary to criticize, do it, constructively with compassion lingering in your very souls and minds
  • Spread peace, diffuse any form of tension that arises and educate ourselves by reading more. =)
