Epilog: Talking Heads

• As of late and as ever, everyone has something to say about every single issue that arises.

• This is a commoner practice which is good in essence if done in the right way.

• Now I am not saying that I know the right way,rather its a point of observation amongst peers, and what we could see manifesting around us everyday.

• I believe in freedom of speech of course when practised in its fine right way. But it is a virulent practice that everyone is indeed threading on a very fine line.

• If you go overboard you might find yourself akin to the evillest of perceptions and if you're not going to say anything you'd be a passive passenger on God's earth.

• A fatal mistake that many of us seemingly commit every single day without fail is that we love to lash out criticism without any substance. It's the infamously named cheap-shots that we sometime use to get back on certain issues that doesn't bode well with our train of thoughts.

• We often let emotions cloud our judgement. It's the very microcosm to the ever perishable healthy discourse between two parties engaging in a beautiful collision of ideas. Not akin to demonize each other, but rather trying to find a common ground and if a disagreement arises, respect each others personal views.

• The very art of a healthy discussion is to never allow, at any point, your emotions get in your way.

• Yes, principals are key, but as Professor Tariq Ramadan once mentioned "Without discipline, my ego is the first jail of myself".

• This is the thin line we're threading. Often we fall prey to our own egos, getting entrapped in our own prison of our mindset, wanting to champion a debate, the negative desire to see our counterpart fall and eat their own views up.

• We claim to be wanting to correct or to amend the situation, but in essence our "words of wisdom" just made things worse. Unfortunately, intentions never justify the end of our means.

• Existence of a check and balance principality is pivotal in order to ensure we do not skew off the thin line drawn over the years by our community's psychosocial aspects.

• Nothing that I have put together in the paragraphs above have not already been playing in our very minds, it is the implementation that becomes the problem. We all know the words, the wisdom, the mechanics but what we do not know is to reach out.

• It starts with us, change our perceived thoughts, be more flexible in taking our stand and never go astray with the principals and guidance that is drawn from the Quran and authentic Hadith.

• Never allow ourselves to be caught in a maze of zealotry or even fanaticism, but instead always have an open mind with regards to issues happening in and around us.

• Finally, The populous masquerade their cerebration in such a way they each think that the world envelopes around their train of thought processes. Sadly,it does not work that way. Voice your opinions with nuance and if you find it necessary to criticize, do it, constructively with compassion lingering in your very souls and minds

• Spread peace, diffuse any form of tension that arises and educate ourselves by reading more. =)

Epilog: ..Of Marginal Margins

• Margins, visible margins that guide our lives, those boundaries that sometimes fizzles out of shape when tested.

• These cross references we set intentionally, in order to establish where we draw that certain line, when everything goes out of hand.

• We're beings with feelings, amidst a mix of it, sometimes we're happy, other times we're gloomy. Is that line that we draw, that sometimes dictate our self persuasion of what we feel.

• Margins, we need to learn to establish it within our own strength, never allow others to poison our thoughts in changing it. Once the margins are established we can conquer any given obstacles.

• Margins, it's a self issue, it's interactions, it's public manner. Of how far you can be pushed, to conduct yourself the way you think you should behave, approximate to how your surrounding reacts.

• Margins, it's boundaries you get to choose to ensure you get what you want, when time comes, when its crunch time, its time for selflessness, pushing for your goals, and not attempting to save others.

• Margins, is knowing that when it's time, you have to put the oxygen mask and assure oxygen assistance upon yourself before attempting to save others, its about being selfish in a nice way, not in a ruthless I don't care no more way.

• Margins, it's me and you, its how we talk, its how you and I get where we are, its the understanding in between. It's a trust you can never break, because once you do, it's a crooked margin, with no ends and no means.

Epilog : Political Oblivion

I have left this place for quite sometime, here I am again, raring to go.

• Politics. Bukan lagi satu keterasingan bagi mana satu sahabat aku yang telah lama kenal akan budi pekerti aku, yang aku orang yang tidak minat akan politikus dan najis-najis yang digembleng sekali oleh perjuangan kosong itu.

• Bagiku, politics is what it is. Especially bila ia membabitkan politik yang diwar-warkan pada zaman ini. It is a dirty game altogether.
  

• Nothing is ever certain with politcs in this age. It is riddled with messed up cynical puppets who fight to fit their usual facade.

• Well, that aside. Aku nak cerita yang baru-baru ni, banyak pulak persatuan yang ajak mengajak aku join their respective clubs.

• Persatuan-persatuan ini mengelolakan semangat ingin menyatupadukan segala rantai masyarakat Malaysia yang bertapak di bumi Mesir ini.

• I am with my stand. Apa yang aku nampak, persatuan/kelab ini kebanyakannya punya agenda terselit dan tak kurang sebenarnya hanya percambahan dari parti politik negara.

• And no, aku bukanlah anti-establishment even worst, an anarchist. I am not really feelin any zest towards politcs for now.

• As for the future maybe, aku akan vote depending on where I vote and the candidate I will have my vote is the one who I see best fit.
  

• I think we should not be drawn towards popularity and party-ism,instead, we should be focusing on the individual and what he could offer towards the community, first!.
  

• If I am wrong then forgive me. I will repeat this again, I am not here to join any political group, I am not here to win any ill-fated posts.
  

• I am here to first and foremost get my degree and fulfill me and my family's wishes. If I was granted with fun and experience along those 5 years, then all credit is due to Allah.

Who's Looking After You?

Aku berjalan2 di salah sebuah gedung hypermarket berhampiran rumah aku beberapa hari lepas. Selalu kalau aku masuk hypermarket ni, mmg jalan cepat sangat, because I already know what I want to buy and I would'nt stick around and look at everyone trying to prise everything whilst their pocket meets its own depth.

So one of the things that startled me was this CCTV that was in place in the hypermarket.
Ada CCTV saja, tapi tiada adanya orang atau petugas untuk meneliti CCTV ni.

How much dependant or irresponsible are we?
Sampai membiarkan mesin sekonyong-konyong memerhatikan kita?

Jika ada sahaja malapetaka atau insiden yang tidak diingini berlaku, adakah kita termangu menunggu sudahnya kejadian baru mula ingin membanteras?

Di sini bukanlah sahaya untuk menidakkan wacana atau idea mengunakkan mesin CCTV, tetapi bahana manusia yang sering memperdaya diri sendiri dan tugas yang diambil secara sambil lewa adalah sebab musabab mengapa bertambahnya kes-kes segala macam dewasa ini!

Aku bukanlah jenis yang merungut secara konsisten, tetapi with my words comes action, telah aku tulis complain and letak dalam letter box hypermarket tersebut, harap2 take note!..

Aku harap the other places that has a CCTV ada petugas yang ditugaskan, ini soal keselamatan pengunjung tidak boleh dipandang enteng, tambah2 dengan kes kes culik kanak2 dan berbagai baur kes yang kian meningkat.

The machine looks after you and your family, but there's no one monitoring it!!

No one is monitoring the station(and yes I checked under the station as well just in case the worker is sleeping underneath it, nope he/she isnt there,lol)

Di Ambang Maut

I would say yesterday was a close shave,

Aku hampir2 tercabut,
Akan nyawaku yang murahan ini,
Murah sangat dengan dosa,
Mahal sangat dengan pahala..

(ok ok, i wont write a poem,sheesh)

Aku dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumah selepas menghantar rakanku,
There's two ways to get back to my place,
Sama ada aku guna jalan belakang,
Or the other road,

I always am reminded of how people will always mention " whatever it is your heart's telling you at the right moment, stick by it!! "

But I didnt listened, just like everybody else

Maka digunakanlah jalan belakang,
So, to get to my housing area,
Ada lah satu simpang tiga ni,
And the road at that particular time, 1.07am, wasnt busy.
So as I was approaching the traffic light,
On the other side of the road,
Aku nampak motor yang telah menghancurkan divider jalan,
And also I saw a body lying unconcious on the road, ALONE.

Just imagine, takdak orang langsung attend to this guy,
So I startled myself and I hurried myself to corner without
looking at the traffic light (which,yes,was already red)

Memang aku salah, aku mengaku,
Tapi the only thing that was going through my mind at that time
is that, the guy needs medical attention, and that no one is there
to help him off the road, just in case anyone else bangs him, he's done for.

So as I rushed into the corner,
Another car was coming the other way,
It wasnt there just now,
But when I needed to make a stunt, it's there.
Aku hampir hampir head's on collision dengan that car,
Both cars screeched their own brakes and almost got in each others way,
I went off and stop and quickly rushed to the guy's aid,

Badan dia macam terlipat sikit,
(I'm sorry for not having pictures but just imagine it, ok?)
The guy was apparently unconcious and I tried to check if he's still alive,
Indeed ,thank God he is still alive, I felt his pulse,

By that time,
Org dah mula ramai,
Biasalah orang Malaysia ni,
When it comes to accidents kan, mesti penuh berjela,
Tapi tadi awal2 takdak pun.

So as more people started to crowd themselves to death,
I decided it's time to move before I myself would take a place on the
ambulance.

p/s: Saya bersyukur kerna maseh bernyawa dan bernafas dalam lumpur maya yang tidak lama lagi akan membuatkan kita semua tenggelam.

An Epidemic Waiting To Be Unleashed?

"Two years past since the 1.5 million Chikungunya cases reported in India, now Malaysia starts to show signs of another repeat of the epidemic of 2006"

Well well, it was just last two semesters where we learn the heads and tails of this virus, though not in details, look who laughing now Prof Zauyah (but seriously, don't laugh, not cool).
When we were taught about the virus it was not as manifested as it is now and back then (which was a few months back) there were only a few reported cases, and it wasn't "serious", now that it is, everyone is so into knowing what Cik Kun Goon Yah is all about.

SIGN(s) &SYMPTOMS
Since it's symptoms is as similar to the ones projected by dengue fever (refer the list highlighted in red below) it is also shares the same mode of transmission(in simpler terms transporter) which is the aedes mosquito. The symptoms may start to show in 1-12 days as that is the incubation period for the virus to manifest after the mosquito bite.

Swelling of Joints, Headache

Rash (May occur rarely)

Sometimes there maybe infection of the conjunctiva of the eye and some photophobia.

Chills

Joint pain (or arthralgia),Fever (> 40 C, 104 F)

Arthritis affecting multiple joints that can be debilitating.

Nausea

Vomiting

Bleeding or hemorrhage (May occur rarely).

In one study over 12% of patients who contract Chikungunya virus infection develop chronic joint symptoms.

TREATMENT(s)

Currently there's no specific treatment for the virus nor are there any vaccines for it.
In the meantime, the only known antiviral agent which help combat the known symptoms is Chloroquine which helps combat the arthritis brought by the virus.
The fact sheet on Chikungunya advises against using aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen and other NSAIDs that are recommended for arthritic pain and fever.


MY TAKE
I'm not an expert but the health departments all over this country should do it's bit to prevent the disease and to prevent a repeat of India's major wipe out.
The public should be well informed and educated on ways to prevent and measures they could take although it's as similar to what preventing dengue fever (you know all the mosquito shooing and whatnot) but the public should be kept at their feet about the increasing number of cases and also what will happen if they put their foot of the gas for even a split second.

p/s: Gosh this entry is dry...but hey it's educational..
